Where does this activity take place?

The Oak tree and climb is located in Watts Park, Southampton. which is located opposite Southampton City Art Gallery. In the park you will see a cordoned off tree which is where the tree climbing will take place The What3Words location of the tree is mice.dozed.saints.

How old do participants have to be?

The minimum age of climbers is 6 years old. There is no upper limit.

How long does the experience last?

The climb duration is 30 minutes which includes kitting up with harness and helmet, instruction and de-kitting. Climb time will be around 15 minutes

Do I need to book?

Yes, our places are strictly limited, so you should book a single ticket in advance for each person that wishes to climb. Watching friends / family members do not need to book a ticket.

Can I just watch my family / friends have a go?

Yes, parents/families are free to spectate the climbers but there is no undercover viewing area

Can I just leave my children with you, whilst they climb?

No, parents/guardians of the climber MUST remain on site for the duration of the climb (half an hour)

Will you be taking photos / video?

Yes, by booking a ticket you are consenting for the climber being photographed/videoed for promotional purposes by the organisers of the event - GO! Southampton, Visit Southampton, Brackenwood Windows and Canopy Tree Climbing

When should I turn up?

You should turn up 5 minutes before your booked climbing time.

What if I am late?

If the climber does not arrive 5 minutes after the starting time their space will be forfeited and offered to others. Although we will try to fit you in if availability allows.

Will you still run in adverse weather?

The climbs will run in weather conditions that include rain and wind up to 25 mph. Adverse weather that include lightning strikes up to 50 miles away and as identified by the app My Lightning Tracker, will force an immediate cancellation of climbs and we will move all climbers away from the tree. Climbs will restart once Canopy Tree Climbing is happy that no strikes have occurred or will occur for a period of 45 minutes since last strike time

What should the climbers wear?

We recommend warm clothing for all climbers and footwear with hard soles. We ask any climber with longhair to have their hair tied back and up
